Essential functions of the position include:

  • Manage and provide technical leadership for software projects involving medium-scale, complex and highly analytical tasks.

  • Determine proper installation procedures and parameters for software applications to deploy them on development, staging and production servers. Plan, participate and implement backup and disaster recovery procedures for supported systems.
  • Provide support to ensure rapid recovery from software or hardware problems for mission-critical applications. Support and troubleshoot operational issues, investigate and resolve incidents, as well as analyze and implement application requests and enhancements.
  • Act as liaison between vendors, technical support hot-lines and internal departments to resolve systems or network problems and assist in coordination and implement.

The position also includes a unique opportunity to be a key coordinator in Citywide GIS and open data efforts and to partner with map providers like Waze, Google, and others.
