The Enterprise Application Team works collaboratively to modernize and maintain the technology and systems that enable the Water, Wastewater & Power Enterprises and the Customer Services Bureau to support the demands of 2.7 million water customers over the 9 Bay Area Counties.

In order to meet the growing demands of the Enterprises and the Customer Services Bureau, we are looking for someone comfortable with a fast-changing environment to work with our team of engineers and business analysts to support and enhance our portfolio of applications.

Under general direction of the IS Enterprise Systems Manager, the 1041 Assistant IS Engineer – Oracle CC&B assists in supporting and enhancing SFPUC’s Oracle Customer Care & Billing System and SFPUC’s daily Water & Wastewater Billing operations. This also includes support for Clevest Mobile Field Force (MFF) and AWMP (Automated Water Meter Program) systems such as Aclara Star, AclaraOne, and ADR (AWMP Data Repository) and the AWMP dashboard (SAM).

Essential functions of this position include:

  • Providing maintenance and support of CC&B and other related system
  • Working with users to provide training and support, and determine future enhancements
  • Enhancing and extending CC&B using Groovy scripting
  • Reviewing batch job status, logs and trace files
  • Using SQL for data analysis and data extracts
  • Creating and updating reports using business intelligence tools such as Cognos or Oracle BI for analysis by Finance & Customer Services
  • Support and enhance in-house written apps developed in Python & JavaScript
  • Prepare documentation and presentation
  • Developing migration, upgrade and user-acceptance plans
  • Liaison with vendors
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

The Controller’s Office is committed to enhancing and expanding application functionality to better support our users’ changing needs. Over the last 5-year period, we have launched new applications and products that have greatly increased and diversified our user base and amplified the need to improve how we assist our business partners to drive stakeholder value and desired business outcomes. The PeopleSoft System Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, patching and troubleshooting of the application of both PeopleSoft Enterprise applications and Oracle Business Intelligence applications. 1043 Senior IS Engineer

The SFPUC is looking for a Senior IS Engineer responsible for performing all aspects of the analysis, design and programming functions for the Customer Information System (CIS), an Oracle application called the Customer Care and Billing System (CC&B), and all related interfaces. The position will work with users to clarify and modify system requirements; analyzes, designs, configures, codes, implements, and documents to support fixes and enhancements to CC&B. Performs the more complex work of the unit, which requires a high level of functional and technical skills to support, maintain and enhance CC&B.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Providing maintenance and support of CIS and other related systems
  • Interfacing with users to determine requirements for fixes and enhancements;
  • Understanding requirements, analyzing how best to satisfy requirement, and documenting general design

Under the IT Project Director, the IS Principal Engineer will be responsible for performing all aspects of the analysis, design, programming, testing, debugging, and deployment of fully functional .Net applications, especially MVC, for key websites, workflows and mobile applications used throughout the SFPUC. The application development work will be project based, focused on new applications and re-architecting/upgrading existing applications, frameworks to provide additional functionality, security and supportability.
