October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). NDEAM celebrates and commemorates the contributions of employees with disabilities to our nation's workforce. This year’s national theme for NDEAM is "Advancing Access and Equity."
In honor of NDEAM, the Department of Human Resources (DHR), the Mayor’s Office of Disability (MOD), and the Controller’s Office are proud to announce that all employees now have the option to complete a Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability questionnaire in the SF Employee Portal. Sharing this information is voluntary and will be kept confidential.
More inclusive data will support the City and County of San Francisco's effort to better understand the demographic makeup and unique needs of the CCSF workforce. Prioritizing disability inclusion is just one of the ways that we are improving Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in our workforce. NDEAM provides us with the opportunity to celebrate the many contributions of people with disabilities to our communities and to further our commitment to a welcoming workplace culture.
