This position has day-to-day duties of identifying, analyzing, and remediating network deficiencies on the DPH WAN network. The incumbent will plan, implement, and maintain upgrades/updates/fixes for all network devices and their related components on technologies, such as MPLS, Metro Area Ethernet, DWDM networks, Quality of Service (QOS), VoIP, VRFs, Wireless Networking, and other protocols. Required to provide 24-hour on-call support to ensure rapid recovery for mission-critical networks. May be required to lead/supervise other network engineers. We are in search of an experienced, technical, responsible, dependable, hardworking principal engineer with leadership skills to join our team and help bring our network to the next level by providing supervision, guidance and direction to a team of six journey and senior level network engineers. This candidate will primary be responsible for providing technical leadership and direction and assumes technical responsibility for completion of major projects and serves as the top technical authority for one or more related specialties. This position will perform and review complex work involving analysis, planning, designing, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting and enhancement of complex large systems or networks consisting of a combination that may include LANs, WANs, and the physical and logical components that integrate these systems together as an enterprise networking backbone.
