The General Plumber Apprentice performs apprentice work by assisting in the installation, alteration, repair and maintenance of water, sewer and other plumbing systems; and performs related duties as required. Work is performed as part of a recognized program of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada and is subject to the local coordinating committee of the Joint Apprenticeship Committees of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry.

Whether it’s new construction, preventative maintenance or emergency service, Apprentice General Plumbers assist in the installation and repair of fixture installation or fixture repair, to interpreting blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials in City facilities.

The Utility Plumber Apprentice performs apprentice work by assisting in the installation, care and maintenance of water mains, pipes, meters, fire hydrants, gates and valves. Work is performed as part of a recognized program of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada and is subject to the local coordinating committee of the Joint Apprenticeship Committees of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry.

Apprentice Utility Plumbers assist in the installation and repair of water supply lines, waste disposal systems, to keep City facilities flowing smoothly. From meter installation/hookups to a gushing 30” mainline, cities and municipalities have a wide variety of plumbing needs. Being a plumber is physically demanding.
