COVID-19 is still present in our communities but is now less severe and one of several respiratory infections, including influenza and RSV, that can impact employees. The Citywide COVID-19 vaccination requirement as a condition of employment ended on August 23, 2023. The Cal/OSHA state requirement for case tracking and reporting and the City's COVID-19 policies on infection and outbreak management ended on February 3, 2025.
The City still encourages employees to stay current on vaccinations and practice self-care in managing their own health. Employees can help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses by responsible self-management care including:
- Staying home when sick.
- Staying current on vaccinations. Vaccines remain widely available and free of change, schedule a vaccination through your healthcare provider, pharmacy, or visit vaccines.gov to find locations.
- Isolating after a positive COVID-19 test.
- Masking after a positive COVID-19 test or exposure to COVID-19.
