Today, following President Biden’s declaration of Juneteenth (June 19th) as a federal holiday, Mayor London Breed declared by proclamation for Juneteenth to be a recognized legal holiday for employees of the City and County of San Francisco. The City will observe the holiday tomorrow, June 18, 2021. Your department will advise you about reporting instructions as all city offices are required to remain open to the public.

Today, at a ceremony in City Hall, Mayor London Breed swore in Carol Isen as the City’s newest Human Resources Director. Isen’s nomination was approved unanimously by the Board of Supervisors two days earlier.

In accordance with Ordinance NO 299-18, the Department of Human Resources, the Ethics Commission, and the Controller’s Office have created trainings and materials to promote and publicize new whistleblower protections.
